Born December 23, 1911 in Montreal, Stanley Cosgrove was a darling of the Montreal art scene with his refreshing painting and murals showcasing still lifes, landscapes, and nude figures. Cosgrove studied under Edwin H. Holgate as well as in New York. Several paintings by Stanley Cosgrove are in the National Gallery of Canada.
