Roy Thomas (1949-2004) was an Ahnisnawbe artist who was inspired by the Ojibway legends and the ancient rock paintings on Long Lac in northern Ontario where he grew up. He was one of Canada's best loved native artists until his untimely death from bone cancer in Thunder Bay, Ontario in November 2004. His art is in museums and private collections throughout North America, Europe, Australia and Japan.
