Murray Gallant (1938- ) - Biography

Formerly a coal miner and public works employee, wind mill maker folk artist Murray Gallant has turned his eye and talent to creating a series of Cape Breton folks out of wood. All are very detailed and familiar to everyone- the lady with the loud polka dot dress and wire glasses who goes nowhere without her purse, the plump boy holding balloons. His carvings will lift your spirits. Very fun.
